Nurturing Our Next Generation of Environmental Stewards

AETOS recently teamed up with non-profit start-up, Go Green Sparks, to co-organise a series of sustainability workshops—Go Green Camp for Good. The initiative aimed to educate children beneficiaries from Care Community Services Society (CCSS) and New Life Community Services (NLCS) about the importance of recycling and minimising their environmental impact, by incorporating sustainability into their daily lives.

The workshops were attended by more than 50 children, ranging from Lower to Upper Primary levels. Guided by volunteers from AETOS and Go Green Sparks, the students engaged in various hands-on activities, such as upcycling orange peels into eco-enzymes and body scrubs, and turning plastic bottles into reusable piggy banks.

“It's through green collaborations like these that we can collectively reduce our carbon footprint and create positive environmental impact in our communities. We hope that these interactive sustainability workshops have not only unlocked the creativity of these young minds, but also inspired them to be more environmentally conscious as stewards of the future,” said Mr Chan Hsien Hung, Vice President of Integrated Enterprise Services & Sustainability.

SG Cares Giving Week is a key initiative of the national SG Cares movement held annually from 1 to 7 December, that celebrates the spirit of giving and seeks to make giving part of our way of life. Organised by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), in collaboration with SG Cares Office and National Council of Social Service (NCSS), the SG Cares Giving Week aims to inspire individuals, businesses, non-profit organisations and the community to give their best for others by sharing their Time, Talent, Treasure and Voice, together with families and friends in support of any cause they are passionate about, in all ways, big and small. These are the little acts, when multiplied by millions, that make a world of difference.
