Celebrating Inclusivity Through Music with MINDS

AETOS has partnered Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) and participated in its Celebrate Colours of Life! (Music and Sports O Rama Festival) event – a series of activities which took place in May. The event, which forms part of MINDS’ annual flagship fundraiser – Colour Socks Parade 2023, aimed to raise awareness and foster meaningful engagements between Persons with Intellectual Disability (PWIDs) and the wider community.

Employees from AETOS were actively involved in the event at Woodlands Gardens School, where they distributed tokens of appreciation and interacted with over 150 students with special needs through dance and music.

“The team at MINDS Woodlands Gardens School (WGS) would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to AETOS for being part of our Music Festival in May 2023,” said Ms. Beh Rey Lyn, teacher at MINDS Woodlands Gardens School. “We are heartened by the AETOS volunteers enthusiastically cheering, clapping and dancing along with the performances. AETOS volunteers also joined the teachers’ percussion performance and the concluding mass dance to the delight of our students, who were excited to see new faces performing with their teachers and dancing with them.”

“We are delighted to see how everyone bonded together with the children from MINDS through fun-filled activities – focusing on abilities and celebrating diversity,” said Ms. Elaine Ong, Assistant Vice President of AETOS Strategic Communications and Marketing. “It all starts with small steps and we look forward to working closely with MINDS to build a more inclusive and compassionate society.”
