Singapore, 24 July 2024 – AETOS Holdings, has been appointed by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) as the first SkillsFuture Queen Bee for the security sector. This three-year partnership aligns with the Security Industry Transformation Map (ITM) 2025, where AETOS will provide support in workforce upskilling and digital transformation efforts for security agencies (SAs), particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Supporting digital transformation in the security sector, AETOS aims to equip SAs and their employees with essential skills to enhance their digital operations and stay abreast of technological advancement. To facilitate this, AETOS, as a SkillsFuture Queen Bee, will develop a dedicated mentorship programme, which will focus on mentoring SMEs and their employees in catalysing interoperable technology adoption for unified, outcome-based security operations while building skills capabilities needed for the business transformation.
The mentorship programme will guide SMEs on two critical pathways:
a. Employee Professionalisation and Job Redesign – Enhancing employee productivity and performance through upskilling and reskilling initiatives
b. Digitalisation and Automation – Supporting transition to outcome-based contracting with the adoption of integrated technology solutions
Participating SMEs can look forward to security business transformation awareness workshops to learn best practices and receive personalised professional consultation advice from AETOS’ subject matter experts to develop integrated business solutions to address their challenges.
With the understanding that different SAs have varied needs and capabilities, AETOS will also help participating SMEs bridge skills gaps among employees through bespoke training programmes and skills-based roadmaps; covering in-demand areas such as integrated command centre monitoring, intruder alarm system, service mindsets, integrated security and facilities visual inspection, among others.
"The security industry is at an inflection point where technology and skills are vital to drive productivity and meet manpower challenges,” said Mr. Jerry See, Senior Executive Director of AETOS. “As the appointed SkillsFuture Queen Bee, AETOS will share our transformation expertise to enable SMEs in developing future-ready, multi-skilled teams empowered by technology. This is very much aligned to our purpose of ‘Securing Our Future’ – which we seek to achieve through this partnership with SSG – in a holistic effort to uplift and professionalise the security industry.”
Mr. Tan Kok Yam, Chief Executive of SSG, said, “We are very pleased to have AETOS lean forward as the SkillsFuture Queen Bee for the security sector. SMEs in this space can now better leverage on AETOS’ expertise and capabilities, to pursue workforce development, innovation and digitalisation. AETOS’ understanding of the security sector’s challenges and opportunities will allow companies and workers in this sector to be even better served by the SkillsFuture movement.”
Over the three-year partnership, AETOS aims to train over 5,000 learners and mentor 100 proof-of-concept projects for SAs in developing digital capabilities such as integration and implementation of effective frontline technologies, that will enable the delivery of higher quality security services and enhanced operational outcomes.
