As Extra Space Asia Self-Storage, Asia's leading self-storage provider, continues expanding across the region, maintaining consistently high security standards across a fast-growing network of facilities became increasingly complex. With more sites, rising customer expectations, and limited manpower resources, the challenge was clear: how do you scale security efficiently while safeguarding customer trust and safety?

To support their next phase of growth, AETOS partnered Extra Space Asia Self-Storage (Extra Space Asia) to implement a technology-led, intelligence-driven security solution across six self-storage facilities islandwide.

The Challenge: Ensuring Consistent, Scalable Security Across Multiple Sites

Managing security for dispersed self-storage locations demanded greater situational awareness, faster incident detection, and centralised command—while reducing reliance on manpower-heavy models. Traditional approaches were increasingly resource-intensive, slow to scale, and difficult to sustain in a rapidly expanding operational environment.

The Solution: Intelligence-Driven Security Powered by Video Analytics

AETOS deployed a customised Video Analytics (VA) solution, seamlessly integrated with Extra Space Asia’s existing CCTV infrastructure and AETOS’ Integrated Command Centre (ICC).

Key capabilities deployed:

• Loitering detection to flag out suspicious behaviour
• Fire and smoke detection for early intervention
• Fall detection to enhance safety monitoring
• 24/7 remote monitoring via the AETOS ICC
• Centralised incident workflows for faster, coordinated responses

This integrated ops-tech approach enabled centralised visibility, earlier threat detection, faster detection-to-response time, and more efficient manpower deployment.
